With artisan champagne less is more, as small family-owned estates, by virtue of their size, produce smaller quantities of personally cherished champagne. As main-stream distribution, overlooks these smaller estates, Degustation opens the door to a previously unreachable selection of wines, allowing you to discover champagnes with real soul.
Champagne from Degustation reflects the growers philosophy and personality as well as the specific taste of the different vineyards they own. The secret behind the exceptional quality of artisan champagne is that the person making the champagne also cultivates and cares for the vine, providing more control from vine to wine than the larger producers.
This extra care, along with Augustin’s exceptional scrutiny, means the quality of the champagnes we offer equals, or even surpasses that of the popular champagne brands, whilst providing the added bonus of the unique tastes and aromas found only in artisan champagne. So our clients enjoy great value, authentic and exciting flavours, without paying extra for a well-known label.
To preserve the individual essence of each vineyard, every month Degustation stock is carefully transported direct from the producers’ ”caves de champagne” to Augustin’s cellar. Similar care is taken to transfer this quality and freshness right to your doorstep, so with our champagnes there is no tempering of the wine through excessive travel or poor storage.
So next time you feel the urge to buy some champagne, remember the Degustation difference!
Before I introduce the producers, let me introduce myself – Augustin de La Brosse. I was born in Champagne and brought up to know and work with these producers. I am fascinated by the magic taking place on the vines and later in the cellar and it amazes me how they create such harmony between their wish for a perfect cuvče and what nature gives them to work with. Yet year after year they never fail to delight me with their latest produce. In setting up Degustation I am now dedicated to sharing this delight with fellow champagne lovers.
So now let me introduce you to The Producers and some of their secrets.
